Government asks us to go to Westminster and tell them what we think ! The Centre for Intergenerational Practice England Network were asked to send six key speakers to the meetings of the "Intergenerational Futures All Party Parliamentary Group". and one of them was us The Volunteer Network !! The Intergenerational Futures Group’s purpose is to promote understanding of the impact of policy on intergenerational relationships and the way in which policy affects people at different life stages. It achieves this by holding up to 6 meetings each year in which Parliamentarians and non-Parliamentarians can exchange views on relevant, topical issues. In addition to Parliamentary members from the Lords and Commons, the Group has a number of non-Parliamentary members, who are invited to attend meetings. These external members include a wide range of business and voluntary organisations, including: the British Youth Council; the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development; Employers Forum on Age; The Age and Employment Network; the Beth Johnson Foundation; the Family and Parenting Institute; the International Longevity Centre UK, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation; Opportunity Links; the Prince’s Trust; and Working Families..
The meeting of the Intergenerational Futures All Party Parliamentary Group took part on Tuesday 5th July from 3.30-5pm, in the House of Commons. |
