New jobs at SYVN
All the following jobs are funded by a national programme to help people get into jobs. To be considered for any of the posts you need to be aged 25 or under and have been unemployed for at least six months.
Each post will be for 26 hours a week, will last for six months and have a payscale of between minimum wage and £6 an hour depending on experience.

Reporters and Media team members
We need 4 reporters to record and show off all the work of SYVN and volunteers in Somerset.This will be a fast moving dynamic team. Each week the team will create at least 8 master stories. Each story will then be converted into web pages, blogs, myspace logs, twitter, facebook page, youtube file, with the best being used as press releases both for newspapers and radio stations.

Office Administrators
We are a fast moving small office and need 2 dedicated admin support workers to help keep the office running while all the work is done with Young People. This will include databases, phone work, printing reports and certificates, and general office duties. Occasionally it will also include helping out on big conferences with signing in delegates and co-ordinating bookings.
Youth Volunteer Support Workers
In the last year we recruited and supported over 3000 volunteers. We are looking for a team to run our public events, promoting and selling volunteeering to young people and the wider community. This will include:
Basically we want to double the number of young people to take part in volunteering.
- staffing our shop road show projects across Somerset,
- run infomation stands in shopping centres, county shows such as the Bath and West
- steward live music events with vlive

All these jobs will include regular evening and weekend work. We go to young people when it is convenient for them not when it suits us.
