Who we are;
Somerset Youth Volunteering Network (based in Glastonbury , Somerset) is an independent charity that was set up in 1999  by a group of young people that wanted to get their peers more actively involved in their communities, but as productive equal members of the community. SYVN does this through supporting volunteering, active citizenship and community action. Supporting mainly young people aged 12 to 25, the charity has gone from
strength to strength. Initially working with around 200 young volunteers a year it now supports over 1500 each year and the number is growing.
Initially the charity worked in only one district of Somerset, but has grown to cover the entire county and some of the South West. We are one of the founding members of the national Youth Action Network and currently sit on the board of trustees for the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation.
In addition to this projects we currently run are
